    SCHEDULE

1:30pm – Betty La Flaca (a short film by Hugo Perez, and winner of the 2006 HBO/NYILFF Short Film Award)
Skinny Betty might just as well not exist given the lack of attention she gets from men, including her boyfriend Carlos. Her co-worker, Reina, recommends she have some work done to enlarge and enhance the most important part of the body–her butt. When Betty arrives at the homegrown ‘clinica’ in Maria Dolores’ living room in the Bronx, she has no idea how much impact a little ‘work’ will have on her life. www.m30afilms.com

    2:00 – Ball Deep Int’l Program
Lev Kalman and Whitney Horn have been collaborating as Ball Deep International since 2003. Their films (15 to-date) are comedies, usually depicting young people enjoying themselves, and focus on themes of adventure, leisure and denial. http://www.balldeep.tv
This program pairs 2 Ball Deep Intl fiction movies with their home-movie counterparts. First, Maine’s great and ominous waters, then in-yo-face nostalgia on the outskirts of NYC.
    "InstaMovie01" (2007/photoJPEG/Color/6min)
The Allagash River, Maine. July 2007.
"Vampire Weekend: Walcott (newgaze remix)" (2008/8mm/Color/4min)
Challenge and monstrosity in an X-Files dream of New England. An unauthorized fanfic.
    "InstaMovie02" (2008/photoJPEG/Color/10min)

    "Jazz Christmas" (2006/16mm/B&W/9min)
1920s New York through the cloudy lens of 21st century cultural revisionism—The Beautiful and Damned, before they knew about that second part.

2:30 – Patries Wichers (From Antwerp via Skype)
Empty loops are created & filled with sound during the performance. The playing of the instrument has an equal relationship with the manipulation of the loop. To achieve this we decided to place the loop at the front as the musical event and reject the history of loops being used as accompaniment. These recordings are live unedited works as they would be heard in performance.
